Three Issues and my plan to address them:

1)      Downtown Revitalization and New Business Expansion.

As an entrepreneur who has grown a family restaurant business from one location to five locations employing approximately 75 people, I understand first-hand how to create a business friendly climate so that we can continue to attract a wide array of local businesses to our Borough.  By attracting new businesses we will continue to revitalize our downtown, and also decrease the tax burden of our residents.  Through a streamlined permitting process, a focus on redeveloping vacant lots, and a Borough Council committed to the success of our business community, Swedesboro can be a model town to all of Gloucester County.

2)      Reinvestment in Our Community:

Investment outside our downtown is critical.  These areas house the majority of our residents and our children.  I will be a strong advocate for greater investment in our neighborhoods by providing residents with improved street signage and possible speed bumps to help manage traffic flow and provide safe neighborhood streets.  I will work to continue developing recreational activities for all our residents, such as providing safe recreational activities at Lake Narraticon Park, a commitment to supporting all youth sports and expanding playground opportunities.

3)      A Pedestrian and Bicycle Friendly Borough:

As more and more children enter our Borough it is most important that we develop safe bike lanes and more pedestrian friendly walk ways.  Increased biking and walking by our residents not only is good for their health, but it also helps create a vibrant town. It is very important that the Borough have well designated crossing areas and a greater enforcement of traffic violations, with particular attention to speeding.  Additionally, as more adults and children travel through town on bicycles it is crucial that we begin to establish safe biking lanes through our Borough. A pedestrian and bicycle friendly Swedesboro is good for our residents, our businesses, our environment, and our health!
